A Vienna lager typically has a copper to reddish-brown colour, malty sweet undertones and a nice balanced noble hop finish. Using doninantly Vienna Malt, with Gladiator and Toffee to provide a big white head and crisp finish.

About The Occasional Brewer

Our brew space and bar is located near the Basin Reserve on the border of Mount Cook/Newtown in Wellington, the Craft Beer Capital. The bar is open during brewing and bottling session hours, as well as outside of these times if required. We offer a range of in-house brewed beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages as well as a small range of locally sourced food and snacks.

PLEASE ARRIVE 15MIN EARLY TO SIGN IN!

Brewers need to bring official identification (e.g. driver's licence or passport) as we take a copy for Customs.

Please wear comfortable clothes and covered footwear (no open-top shoes or sandals) that can withstand a little grain dust and the odd splash of water or beer.

Bottling: You must bottle your beer between 12 and 21 days after brewing, or we won't guarantee it - if this is going to be a problem, contact us ASAP. You can book your bottling session during your brew or we can issue a bottling session voucher for you to book online later.

If you need to reschedule or cancel a booking, please call us on 04-384-8268, or email us at info@theoccasionalbrewer.co.nz. If less than 24 hours notice is given, you may lose your deposit.

If you are more than 20 minutes late you will have to reschedule and may lose your deposit.
